NVvP 2020

The ‘NVvP Voorjaarscongres’; usually in the spring and live in Maastricht, but this year postponed to the beginning of summer and digitised to the first ever ‘eVJC’, which turned out to be a great success! The congress consisted of a two-day plenary live stream, 111 parallel sessions, 432 speakers and 1,652 participants. We can look back with a positive view at this daring initiative from the NVvP.

We are so proud that the NVvP wanted to embark this adventure with us and, of course also, other suppliers. Even before the world turned upside down due to Covid-19, we got to assist them for the fifth year in a row with the abstract and registration handling and the link with the NVvP congress-app.

Unfortunately, it became clear in the beginning of 2020 that the original ‘Voorjaarscongres’ would not be able to take place from 1 – 3 April 2020. With a positive outlook on the future the congress was then postponed to 17 – 19 June 2020, however behind the scenes we – together with the NVvP - were already looking into other possibilities for the congress. Immediately after the press conference on 21 April 2020 these plans were published; the ‘NVvP Voorjaarscongres’ would become the first ever ‘NVvP eVJC’!

With only 6 weeks to go, a new programme was made, the digital platform was set up, registrations were changed and a new registration page was built. The plans for the congress were amended and perfected almost every week. Our part in the process was to shape the new programme, inform the speakers and to change the participant’s registrations, make new registrations and inform them about all the changes and developments.

It was daring and sometimes thrilling, but overall a big success for all parties involved and we are looking back with a positive view!
